No appointment, no waiting list. We’re the smog bay inside the Arco station — pull into the forecourt and up to the awning.

We run the test
STAR-certified equipment, including a BAR 97 machine for 1999-and-older vehicles. Gas, hybrid and diesel.

Results go to the DMV
Your certificate is transmitted electronically, so there's no paperwork to drop off and your registration can clear.
Test only means no upsell.
We don't do emissions repairs. That means we have no reason to fail your car and nothing to sell you afterward — you get the actual result, every time.

Head for the Arco, not the address
We’re on San Fernando Rd at Highland Ave. Search Arco rather than the street number — the pin for 5800 lands about a hundred feet short of us.

Pull into the station forecourt
Turn in off San Fernando Rd and drive past the fuel pumps. You do not need to buy fuel.

The smog bay is in the station
Drive past the fuel canopy to the building at the back of the lot — look for the SMOG PROS awning. If you are at the building next door or the shop across the street, you have not reached us.

Google and Apple Maps often drop the pin for 5800 San Fernando Rd just short of us, at the building next door. We’re the smog bay inside the Arco station at Highland Ave — search “Arco” instead of the street number and pull into the forecourt.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any time we're open and we'll take you in order. Most visits are done in about 15 minutes.
How much does it cost?
$49.75 plus certificate fees. We test every model year, including 1999 and older on our BAR 97 machine — call with your year and model and we'll quote you in about ten seconds.
What happens if my car fails?
We're a test-only station, so we don't perform emissions repairs. We'll walk you through the result and you can take it to a licensed repair shop.
What do I need to bring?
Your vehicle registration or the renewal notice the DMV mailed you. That's it — bring the car and we'll handle the rest.
Do you test hybrids, diesels and older cars?
Yes. Hybrids, diesels, gross polluter re-tests, change-of-ownership and out-of-state inspections — and we run a BAR 97 machine, so 1999-and-older vehicles are covered too.
What is a STAR station?
The DMV sends some vehicles to STAR-certified stations specifically. We're one of them, so we can test any vehicle — including the ones directed to STAR.
